This Program provides
assistance for the
rehabilitation of income
qualified owner-occupied housing.
Rehabilitation assistance is
available for low and moderate income homeowners. The Rehab assistance
is provided for low income owners, and at a low interest rate with
modest monthly payments for moderate income owners. The loan must be
repaid when title to the property changes hands. Correction
of health and safety problems (bad wiring, plumbing, etc.) is the first
priority. Elimination of building deterioration (bad roof, dry rot,
etc.) and completion of cost effective energy conservation measures
(insulation and storm windows) are the next priorities. Limited general
improvements to make the home more livable (floor coverings, new
fixtures, etc.) are also eligible work, as well as the replacement of
side sewers and the installation of security lighting. CAP staff helps
you prepare for the rehab of your home and monitors the work being done
by the contractor.
The process of rehabilitating your home begins with an application to
Lower Columbia Community Action Program (CAP). Please call us at
360-425-3430. |
